University of Hertfordshire ตั้งอยู่ทางตอนเหนือของลอนดอน สามารถเดินทางเพียง 20 นาทีโดยรถไฟ จากใจกลางลอนดอนไปที่ Hertfordshire มหาวิทยาลัยมีวิทยาเขตทั้งหมด 3 แห่ง โดยมี 2 วิทยาเขตตั้งอยู่ที่ Hatfield ของเมือง Hertfordshire คือ วิทยาเขต De Havilland และวิทยาเขต College Lane ส่วนวิทยาเขต St. Albans เป็นวิทยาเขตที่ทำการเรียนการสอนเฉพาะวิชาเกี่ยวกับกฎหมาย ตั้งอยู่ห่างออกไปเพียง 5 นาที มีรถมหาวิทยาลัยบริการระหว่าง campus ตลอดทั้งวัน
College Lane Campus ก่อตั้งในปี ค.ศ. 1957 และ วิทยาเขต De Havilland ถูกปรับปรุงใหม่ใน ปี 2003 โดยทางมหาลัยวิทยาลัยได้ทุ่มงบประมาณกว่า 130 ล้านปอนด์ (กว่า 7,000 ล้านบาท) เพื่อพัฒนา campus แห่งนี้ ให้มีความทันสมัยโดดเด่นที่สุด จนได้รับการยอมรับจาก University Guide ว่าเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยอันดับต้นๆของประเทศอังกฤษที่มีความทันสมัยมากที่สุด มีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกทางด้านการเรียนการสอนที่ครบครัน
ปัจจุบัน มหาวิทยาลัย Hertfordshire มีนักศึกษากว่า 23,000 คน และมีนักศึกษาต่างชาติกว่า 2,000 คนจากกว่า 85 ประเทศทั่วโลก จุดเด่นของมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งนี้คือ คุณภาพของงานวิจัย ที่ RAE ได้รับการจัด Rating 4 ซึ่งจัดได้ว่าเป็นมหาวิทยาลัย ระดับแนวหน้า อีกแห่งของประเทศอังกฤษ
